Radju Luminaria - update

We recently formed a Core Group to manage the day-to-day running of Radju Luminaria after Emily Muscat notified the Archpriest that she no longer wished to continue managing the radio. We would like to thank her for taking over the radio management for five years after the departure of Fr. Brian in January 2008. We thank Emily for her services and hard work over this period, all of which was done on a voluntary basis.

The Core Group composed of Fr. Joe Curmi, Mons. Salvu Muscat, Dennis Mifsud, Stanley Portelli, Joe Meilak, Cynthia Muscat and Emily Muscat has already met a few times to finalise the Mnarja Novena and Feast schedule and also the Summer schedule that will be published soon. We will keep you informed on the decisions taken during these meetings.

On May 24 we will be having a meeting for all the radio staff in order to assign tasks and responsibilities for the Mnarja Novena and Feast activities.

We are also planning an interesting presentation/workshop on how to produce a radio programme on Saturday, July 6. Every person involved in the radio is invited to attend. More details later on.

Schedule Highlights

This below is a brief overview of some of the featured programmes currently aired on Radju Luminaria.

English is Fun
This program aims at encouraging children to read and write English and it gives the opportunity to these children to speak on air and experience what’s it like to be in a radio station. Presented by Evelyn Galea.

English Rosary
For the English speaking audience, we have included a Rosary in English every day at 8.20pm.

Message from the Archpriest
Every Thursday at 3.30pm, Nadur’s Archpriest Mons. Jimmy Xerri dedicates some time of his busy schedule to give us listeners a weekly update on the Pastoral Activities happening in Nadur’s community.

Leħen mill-Klawsura
Being an established programme on Radju Luminaria, Leħen mill-Klawsura gives us the opportunity to listen to weekly spiritual messages from Sister Giuliana, who via telephone, presents this programme live from her cloister in Valletta.
