Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord harth not imputed sin,
and in whose spirit there is no guile.

whilst I cried out all the day long.

With bit and bridle bind fast their jaws,
who come not near unto Thee.
Many are the scourges of the sinner,
but mercy shall encompass him that hopeth in the Lord.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye Just,
and glory, all ye right of heart.

Reflection.

Lenten Question

Q: Is there a biblical basis for abstaining from meat as a sign of repentance?
A: Yes. The book of Daniel states: "In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia . . . 'I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.'" (Daniel 10:1-3)

Lenten Action.

Say "I will pray for you" to someone who has shared a difficulty.

Prayer

Renew my eagerness to work with you in building a better world, so that my friends may hear your gospel of peace and justice.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, my Redeemer, behold me here at Thy feet. From the bottom of my heart
